Peanuts Gatti Pakodi

Popular snack thru out South India.

Ingredients:

  • 1cup roasted and roughly ground peanuts

  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)

  • 1/2 cup thinly diced onions

  • 1-2 diced green chillies

  • 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1/4 tsp ajwain seeds (carom seeds)

  • 1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro

  • 2 tsps finely chopped curry leaves

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Salt to taste

  • enough water to make sticky dough

Method:

Mix all ingredients with enough water to make sticky dough. Heat oil for deep fry on medium flame. Use spoonfuls of batter to drop in oil and deep fry. Best to leave it for a minute before turning them in the oil so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.


  1. Mix all ingredients except oil to deep fry to sticky dough.

  2. Deep fry spoonfuls of peanut dough till golden brown.
